Fanatics Brand NBA Fast Break Jersey Review (How Mine Fits)

This is a Fanatics Brand NBA Fast Break jersey review. The Fanatics Brand Fast Break jersey is one of the most affordable NBA fan jerseys on the market. There are actually 5 types of NBA jerseys.

Quickly, here’s what you need to know about all the NBA fan jerseys available:

  • Nike Swingman – This is Nike’s more affordable replica option. These are very popular among fans, but they are not embroidered. Great option if you don’t want to pay up for the embroidered authentic jerseys. Slim fit, if you prefer baggy, size up. Click here to view the Nike Swingman jerseys at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).
  • Nike Authentic – These are the authentic jerseys. These jerseys have all the premium finishes, including stitched numbers and graphics. They have a slim fit, and you will need to size up if you prefer a baggy fit. Click here to view the Nike Authentic jerseys at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).
  • Fanatics Fast Break Jersey – Another affordable replica jersey. It is made by Fanatics, not Nike. If you are operating on a tight budget, I suggest checking it out. These are not stitched. This jersey has a true-to-size regular fit. Click here to view the Fanatics Fast Break jerseys at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).
  • Mitchell & Ness Swingman – Mitchell & Ness makes classic throwback jerseys. The Swingman version is the more affordable option, but these jerseys still have awesome quality, including stitched graphics on most jerseys. This jersey is not as slim as the Nike jerseys. I recommend ordering your normal sizing. Click here to view the Mitchell & Ness Swingman throwback collection at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).
  • Mitchell & Ness Authentic – These are also throwback authentic jerseys. They are stitched. These authentic throwbacks are some of the most coveted fan jerseys. Click here to view the Mitchell & Ness Authentic jerseys at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).

This is the jersey type that I recommend as best NBA fan jersey due to it’s combination of comfort, quality, and style (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).

In this article I will review the Fanatics Brand Fast Break jersey and tell you why (even though it was not my top choice) I think it is a quality jersey and why it makes perfect sense for certain buying situations.

Fanatics is an online retailer of sportswear and merchandise and currently runs the e-commerce platform for the NBA, which is NBAStore.com. In 2017, Fanatics launched the Fast Break Replica NBA jerseys to give fans another affordable option for NBA jerseys.

In general, the Fanatics Fast Break jerseys fit true to size, and don’t fit as slim as the Nike jerseys do. In this Fanatics NBA Fast Break jersey review we will discuss:

  • What is a Fast Break jersey?
  • How do Fast Break NBA jerseys fit?
  • What features do Fast Break jerseys have?
  • Fast Break jersey vs Swingman jersey – How do they compare?

What is a Fast Break Jersey?

The Fast Break NBA jersey is a replica jersey created by Fanatics that provides fan with a more affordable jersey option. The Fast Break jerseys were first launched in 2017 (source).

The Fast Break jerseys are replica jerseys. Their design will be similar, but not identical, to team jerseys:

Fast Break jerseys are popular among fans looking for an affordable way to rep a player or team. If you are operating on a tight budget, this jersey will work perfect for you.

In this article we will discuss the details of the Fanatics Fast Break jersey, so you know what to expect as far as fit, and how it differs from the Nike Swingman jerseys.

How Much Do Fast Break Jerseys Cost?

This is the current price of the Fanatics Fast Break jersey at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com). The price of the Fanatics Fast Break jersey can fluctuate depending on time of year and sales discounts.

Again, this is one of the most affordable jersey options on the market. This is a nice entry-level jersey if you need to save some money, or are looking to buy a jersey for your son or daughter.

Fanatics Fast Break Jersey Sizing and Fit

The Fanatics Fast Break jerseys fit true to size. They are slim through the shoulders, but have a bit of extra room in the stomach and waist areas.

The NBA on-court jerseys have been trending towards a slimmer, more athletic fit for several years now. This has translated through to most fan jerseys as well. The Fanatics Fast Break jersey, however, does not run as slim as the Nike fan jerseys do.

fanatics-brand-fast-break-nba-jersey-review-front

Fanatics describes the fit of the Fast Break jerseys as “a traditional basketball fit”. It is hard to be sure what exactly they mean by that, but I would just recommend you to expect the jersey to run true to size.

Again, the jersey is fitted through the shoulders and somewhat fitted down through the chest area, then loosens up around the stomach and waist. The jersey does ride up near the armpit area, but it did not bother my underarms at all.

As I mentioned previously, the Fanatics Fast Break jerseys are not as slim as the Nike Swingman jerseys. Here is a look at my Fanatics Fast Break jersey sitting underneath my Nike Swingman jersey, both size mediums:

As you can see, the Fanatics Fast Break jerseys has much more room through the chest and stomach, and also has a drop tail that makes it an inch or two longer in the back.

Here is my medium Fast Break jersey compared to a medium Hanes undershirt straight out of the package:

The Fanatics Fast Break jersey does have a drop-tail in the back, which means the back of the jersey runs a bit longer than the front of the jersey:

***Don’t forget, we also review the Nike Swingman jersey pictured below. Out of all the NBA fan jerseys, the Nike Swingman (in my opinion) is the best. If you want to check out the Nike Swingman jerseys, you can do so by clicking on this link (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com). Fanatics Brand NBA Fast Break Jersey Review: Features

As we discussed earlier, the Fanatics Fast Break jersey is not a true replica of what the players wear. However, it does still have some unique features that make it a very nice option.

Features

  • Machine Washable; Made with 100% Polyester Material
  • Unique lightweight and breathable fabric that is very soft to the touch and doesn’t feel heavy to wear
  • Flexible graphics (pictured below) that fold and bend easy and make the jersey comfortable to wear
  • Drop-tail back for added length in the back of the jersey

Here is a look at the flexible graphics used in the Fanatics Fast Break jerseys. These graphics are lightweight and bend easily, and it almost makes it feel like they’re not even there. If you’ve worn jerseys before, you know the graphics can be heavy and bulky at times. The Fanatics jersey feels lightweight to wear.

Fanatics Brand NBA Fast Break Jersey Review: Photos

Here are the photos of the Fanatics Fast Break jersey that I own. Again, expect the jersey to run true to size. It is fitted through the shoulders, but looser around the stomach. I am 6’3″ tall and weigh 200 pounds and the jersey is a size medium. For reference, here I am wearing a medium t-shirt:

As we discussed earlier in the article, the graphics are flexible and lightweight, and are very comfortable to wear. This jersey does not feature sewn-on graphics like some NBA jerseys do.

Fast Break Jersey vs Swingman

Comparing the Fanatics Fast Break to the Nike Swingman is common because they are two of the more affordable NBA fan jerseys. The Nike Swingman jerseys are actually my favorite type of NBA fan jersey.

Nike is the official jersey provider of the NBA, and even though the Nike Swingman jerseys are not true authentic replicas of what the players wear (Nike does make an authentic jersey too), the Nike Swingman jerseys look very similar to the on-court jerseys of the pros.

When comparing the fit of the Fanatics Fast Break jersey to the fit of the Nike Swingman, the Nike Swingman jerseys are slimmer, with a more athletic fit. I usually recommend people to size up the Nike Swingman unless they prefer a slim fit.

Again, here is my Nike Swingman medium jersey sitting on top of my Fanatics Fast Break medium jersey:

As you can see, the Nike Swingman jersey is a much slimmer, snug fit. The Fanatics Fast Break jersey fits true to size.

Fanatics Brand NBA Fast Break Jersey Review: Summary

The Fanatics Brand Fast Break NBA replica jersey gives fans an affordable way to rep their favorite player or team. This is the current price of the Fanatics Fast Break jerseys at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).

Expect the Fast Break jersey to fit true to size. It is fitted through the shoulders, and looser in the stomach and waist area.

The Fast Break jerseys has unique, flexible graphics that feel very lightweight, and make the jersey comfortable to wear. Just to be clear, this jersey is not made by Nike, so do not expect a Nike logo on this jersey.

Overall this jersey is a nice option if you are looking for a fan jersey, but operating on a budget. The material is comfortable, and even though it isn’t a true replica of what the players wear, the jersey looks just fine and is perfect way to save a bit of money if needed.

Best Place to Buy NBA Jerseys?

This is where you can browse the jerseys at NBAStore.com (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com). Because there are potentially fake jerseys on the re-sale market, we always recommend you to buy your jerseys from a reputable source like NBAStore.com, which is the official online shop of the NBA.
