Where to Park at Michigan Stadium

How Does Parking Work at Michigan Stadium?

Michigan Stadium has both permit parking and cash parking. The lots closest to the stadium are pre-paid permit lots. For example, the parking lots located directly east of the stadium are permit lots.

If you want to reduce walking distance, buying a prepaid permit is always a good option. Click here to view Michigan Wolverines football parking passes available at VividSeats.com (affiliate link takes you to vividseats.com).

Spaces are available on a first-come, first serve basis. If you arrive at your designated lot and it is full, you will be directed to the next available lot (source).

There is also parking available at Pioneer High School (which is located southwest of the stadium). Much of the parking that exists at Pioneer High School will be grass lot. There are several different types of lots available at Pioneer High School, including some that are pre-paid lots and some that are pay on site. To learn more, visit our section about Michigan Football Pioneer Parking.

The golf course directly south of the stadium is also used for gameday parking. Just like Pioneer High School that we discussed above, this golf course parking area has both pre-paid parking, and pay-on-site parking. To read more, visit our section about Michigan Football Golf Course Parking.

There are also smaller lots that exist a bit farther east of the stadium near Glick Fieldhouse, Yost Ice Arena, and Ferry Field. Most of the parking in this area of campus is known as Michigan Stadium Grey Parking, which is permit parking (there may be exceptions).

And then there are also a couple larger parking lots south of the golf course. These lots will require a 10-20 minute walk to the stadium. These lots include the Michigan Stadium Brown Lot and then Michigan Stadium Maize Lot. These lots are down by the tennis center and indoor track facility.

How Much Does Parking Cost at Michigan Stadium?

The cost of parking at Michigan Stadium will depend on what lot you park in. There is a wide range of prices. In general, expect to pay in the $20-$80 range for normal car parking depending on lot (yes, there may be exceptions).

My advice is to visit the Michigan Stadium Parking page where you can see the full list of prices based on lot.

When do Michigan Stadium Parking Lots Open?

For noon and 3:30pm games, Michigan Stadium Parking Lots will open between 6am and 8am. The exact time can vary by lot. This is where you can learn about times based on a specific lot.

For evening games, the Michigan Stadium Parking Lots will open at noon (source).
