NFL Pro Line Jersey Review (How Mine Fit w/ Pictures)

This is an NFL Pro Line Jersey review. The Pro Line jersey is one of the most affordable NFL fan jerseys on the market. If you are interested in buying an NFL fan jersey, here’s what you need to know (affiliate links take you to NFLShop.com):

  • NFL Pro Line Jersey – The NFL Pro Line Jersey is not made by Nike. It is a more affordable replica jersey, which might be a nice option if you are on a tight budget. This jersey has a baggy, loose fit, and you may need to size it down. Click here to view Pro Line jerseys at NFLShop.com.
  • Nike Legend – The Nike Legend is unique compared to other NFL jerseys. It fits almost like a standard t-shirt, and is more affordable than other jerseys. I was a bit shocked how much I liked the fit. True to size. Lightweight, and easy to wear. Click here to view the Nike Legend jerseys at NFLShop.com. NFLShop.com is the official online shop of the NFL.
  • Nike Game – The Nike Game jerseys are popular fan jerseys due to price point. They have the true look of a jersey, but are replicas, which means they are a bit more affordable than premium jerseys. Relaxed fit, but true to size. These jerseys are a good option if you are looking for a Nike jersey on a tight budget. Click here to view the Nike Game jerseys at NFLShop.com.
  • Nike Limited – The Nike Limited Vapor jerseys are my favorite jersey. Vapor style has clean front with seams converging in back. Sits flat against body. This jersey has stitched numbers and graphics. Awesome jersey, with a great fit and some premium finishes. More affordable than the Elite authentic jerseys. True to size. Click here to view the Nike Limited jerseys at NFLShop.com
  • Nike Elite – These are the authentic NFL jerseys, and the closest you can get as a fan to wearing what the players wear on the field. The fit will be slimmer than other jerseys, mimicking the athletic fit of the players’ jerseys. The Elite jerseys have all the premium finishes, including stitched graphics and authentic paneling. Click here to view the Nike Elite jerseys at NFLShop.com.

Before we start the review, if you are looking for quick jersey advice, I own and review all the NFL jersey types. This is the jersey type from NFLShop.com that I recommend as best NFL fan jersey (Nike Limited Vapor) – in my opinion it has the best combination of fit, comfort, style and price (affiliate link takes you to NFLShop.com).

If you are looking for an affordable NFL jersey option, perhaps you have come across the NFL Pro Line jersey. But before you buy you are looking for an NFL Pro Line jersey review to help you understand how the NFL Pro Line jersey fits.

In this review I will detail how my NFL Pro Line jersey fits and include multiple pictures so you can get an idea of what you are up against.

The NFL Pro Line jersey runs big and fits very loose. You may need to size down. Below I will detail NFL Pro Line sizing and fit, and include pictures and features to help you make your decision.

Pro Line Price

The NFL Pro Line jersey is one of the most affordable fan jerseys on the market. This jersey may be perfect for you if you are operating on a tighter budget.

  • This is the current price of the NFL Pro Line jersey at NFLShop.com (affiliate link takes you to NFLShop.com). Again, the Pro Line jersey is not made by Nike.

NFL Pro Line Sizing and Fit

In my opinion, the NFL Pro Line jerseys run about a full size too big compared to standard sizing, and unless you like a jersey to fit very loose and baggy, you will need to size down.

It might be as simple as this: if you are wanting a budget-friendly loose-fitting NFL fan jersey, the NFL Pro Line will be a great option. If you do not want a loose fitting jersey, there are better options.

The Pro Line jersey runs very loose through the chest and shoulders, and has very long and loose sleeves. This jersey will fit bigger than standard t-shirts.

(6’3″ 200 pounds size medium)

For comparison, here I am wearing a medium t-shirt:

Again, to be fair, it all comes down to your personal taste in fit. I want to emphasize that if you prefer a loose-fitting jersey that allows you plenty of room to layer underneath for a cold environment etc., the NFL Pro Line jersey may be a perfect option for you.

I just want to make sure that you are clear on how it fits so that if you prefer a tighter fitting jersey you can either size down or look at a different NFL fan jersey.

The NFL Pro Line jersey was undoubtedly the loosest and largest of the 6 jersey types I own. Below is a perfect visual example – here is a size medium Nike Legend jersey sitting on top of a size medium NFL Pro Line jersey (again, yes, both of these are mediums…):

That picture might sum up the entire review. The size difference there is quite shocking to be honest. The Nike Legend is probably 2 inches smaller through the chest and 2-3 inches shorter in length, while also having much more fitted sleeves.

But again, it likely just comes down to how you like a jersey to fit. Here is a picture of those two medium jerseys on me (I am 6’3″ tall and weigh 200 pounds).

Medium Nike Legend Jersey

Medium NFL Pro Line Jersey

As you can see the NFL Pro Line jersey is much baggier than the Nike Legend jersey. The Pro Line jersey has huge sleeves that hit basically at my elbows, and the jersey is quite loose through the arms, shoulders, chest and waist.

I am using the Nike Legend as a comparison here because it is another budget-friendly option. It is more of a jersey/shirt hybrid (shirsey) that is made with 100% polyester and Nike’s Dri Fit Technology.

I was actually shocked at how much I liked the Nike Legend jersey. If you want to view the current price of the Nike Legends at NFLShop.com you can do so by clicking on this link (affiliate link takes you to NFLShop.com).

Another jersey that is often compared to the NFL Pro Line jersey is the Nike Game jersey. These two jerseys have very similar price points and both fit a bit loose (the NFL Pro Line fits looser than the Nike Game). Here is a comparison of (first) the Nike Game and (second) the NFL Pro Line jerseys.

Medium Nike Game

Medium Pro Line

These two jerseys are obviously quite similar, but if you look closely at those two images you can see that the NFL Pro Line jersey (the second photo) is much baggier through the stomach, chest, and especially the sleeves. It also runs about an inch longer.

If you like the look of the Nike Game jersey better than the NFL Pro Line and want to take a closer look at how they compare, visit our article: Nike Game vs Pro Line.

One issue I had right from the beginning when I purchased my NFL Pro Line jersey was the size chart link on the official NFL Pro Line jersey page at NFLShop.com linked to what was titled “Generic Size Charts” which seemed to be a weird collection of several different types of size charts for both men and women.

If you want an official size chart you may be able to contact their customer service department to see if they can provide one, but I do have measurement photos of my medium jersey below.

NFL Pro Line Jersey Review: Features

The NFL Pro Line jersey is not a product of Nike. Nike does make several types of NFL fan jerseys (Nike Game, Nike Limited, Nike Legend, Nike Elite), but the NFL Pro Line jersey is not a Nike jersey (so don’t expect a Nike logo to appear on your NFL Pro Line jersey).

The NFL Pro Line jersey will not offer the premium finishes that some of the best Nike jerseys will offer (like sewn-on names and numbers, stretch panel fabric, tagless flywire collars etc).

The jersey is made of 100% polyester and is fairly lightweight and breathable and is comfortable to wear. The jersey has a sewn-on name plate on the back of the jersey (with screen-printed letters).

The numbers and logos are screen-printed on and not sewn-on like some of the premium Nike jerseys. There is an NFL shield patch sewn onto the bottom of front collar (the collar is not tagless if that matters to you).

Even though this jersey has screen-printed numbers, letters, and logos, instead of sewn-on graphics, I was actually quite pleased with the overall clean look of the jersey. Don’t get me wrong, a full season or two of washes may really begin to wear away the screen-printed graphics, but overall, the Pro Line jersey had a nice look to it when first worn.

The jersey also has the NFL jock tag sewn above the bottom left hem. The jersey is machine washable. Overall, I think the Pro Line jersey offers very reasonable quality while also being one of the most affordable jerseys on the market as long as you are okay with a baggy fit.

NFL Pro Line Jersey Review: Pictures

Here are some pictures of the medium NFL Pro Line jersey that I own – again, I am 6’3″ tall and weigh 200 pounds.

The front view of the jersey gives you a good look at the loose fit that comes with the NFL Pro Line jersey. Again, unless you like a baggy fit, I recommend sizing down.

Side

As you can see in the picture above, there is a change in the paneling on the side of the Pro Line jerseys.

Another look at the loose, long fit of the sleeves.

Collar

The collar on the NFL Pro Line jersey is not tagless like many of the Nike jerseys are. You can also see the NFL shield at the front collar.

Graphics

The numbers, letter, and logos of the Pro Line jersey are screen-printed on. They look fine but just realize that after a season or two of washing you will likely see some wear on the graphics. Also, you can see it does have a sewn-on name plate.

Seams

pro-line-jersey-inside-out

There are quite a few seams on the inside of the Pro Line jersey, so if that sort of thing bothers you then you may need to layer this jersey when you wear it.

Sizing

As I mentioned earlier in the article, one thing that was an issue when I bought my Pro Line jersey was there was no useful size chart linked on the product page at NFLShop.com.

The linked size chart was a weird collection of several generic size charts and it was impossible to know if any of them were applicable to the Pro Line jersey. Above is a look at the basic measurements of my medium Pro Line – it is approximately 30.5 inches long (back collar to bottom hem) and 22.5 inches across the front chest.

NFL Pro Line Jersey Review Summary

Although I think this jersey can make for an affordable way to rep your team on gameday, ultimately, if you are after a budget-friendly jersey, I would recommend both the Nike Legend and the Nike Game jersey over the NFL Pro Line.

For me, personally, the jersey is just too loose and baggy, and there are several fan jerseys that are more appealing to me. The NFL Pro Line does not make my top 4 recommended fan jerseys.

Here are my recommended top 4 fan jerseys ranked when you combine fit, style, quality, comfort, and price:

  1. Nike Limited Vapor (my recommendation)
  2. Nike Legend
  3. Nike Elite Vapor
  4. Nike Game

If you are not totally sure the NFL Pro Line will work for you, I would recommend shopping around at NFLShop.com to browse through some of the jersey options listed above to see if you can find a jersey that makes more sense for you.
