General Great American Ball Park Information
The Great American Ball Park was opened for play in 2003 and has been the home of the Cincinnati Reds ever since. It replaced the old stadium that had been the home of the Reds since 1972. The park is located near downtown Cincinnati along the Ohio River.
The old stadium had to be torn down due to the limited space where the new ball park was being built. The Great American Ball Park has two smoke stacks in right field that were very common on steam boats that traveled on the Ohio River many years ago.
