Best Places to Buy Chicago Cubs Tickets [2023 info]

Sportsfanfocus.com has no affiliation with Wrigley Field, the Chicago Cubs, or MLB (info)

Finding and buying tickets to your next Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field is exciting, but you might be wondering what is the best option to find tickets. Where can you buy Cubs tickets?

*Ticket Advice* – As of 2023, the Chicago Cubs use digital tickets for all guests. It is always best to purchase tickets directly from the team if possible, but you can also use ticket brokers like StubHub or Vivid Seats. I like to use Vivid Seats because they show me what my view from the seats will look like prior to purchase. Click here to view Cubs tickets available at Vivid Seats (paid affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com).

If you choose to buy directly from the team, you can do so by downloading the MLB Ballpark App to your mobile device. The MLB Ballpark app is MLB’s free, official app that makes it easy to access, manage, and use your tickets.

The Wrigley Field Ticket Office is open on gamedays to assist fans with ticket issues, but they do not disperse physical, hard tickets. If you wish to visit the Wrigley Field Ticket Office on gameday, the main ticket office is located near the corner of W Addison St and N Clark St by gate 3.

Although there may be other methods to buy Chicago Cubs tickets, the most popular options are:

  • Buy Directly from the Cubs
  • Buy From Vivid Seats
  • Buy From Stubhub
  • Buy From TicketMaster
  • Buy From SeatGeek

As we discussed above, buying directly from the team is always a good idea. If you choose to buy directly from the team, you can do so by downloading the MLB Ballpark App to your mobile device. You can also use ticket brokers like StubHub or Vivid Seats to buy fan-to-fan tickets.

I like to use Vivid Seats because they show my what my view from the seat will be prior to purchase. Here is a look at some screenshots from my phone as I search for Cubs tickets at Vivid Seats:

In this article let’s take a closer look at all of these options so you have a better idea where to buy Chicago Cubs tickets. Let’s also discuss options you have if you are searching for cheap Cubs tickets.

Where Can You Buy Chicago Cubs Tickets?

Buy Tickets from the Team

Buying from the team, if possible, is always the best option.

Chicago Cubs tickets are available to purchase at the stadium ticket office, or from the team website by clicking here. If you are interested in buying season tickets for the Chicago Cubs, you can view that information by clicking here.

Buying tickets through the Cubs is not hard, and they offer a variety of plans to consider. If you hope to buy tickets on gameday from the ticket office at Wrigley Field, just be aware that they only sell digital tickets on site, meaning you will need to buy the tickets through your smart phone.. • Ticket Office Hours: The Cubs Ticket Office at Wrigley Field is only open during the season on Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and on the weekends from 9am to 4pm. There are extended hours for night games. Other ticket windows around the stadium will open two hours prior to game time (source).
  • Ticket Office Location: The Cubs ticket office at Wrigley Field is located near the corner of W Addison St and N Clark St (view) by gate 3. There are also ticket windows on Waveland Avenue near the Gate 5 left field entrance (view), and on Waveland Avenue near the Gate 10 Budweiser Bleachers centerfield entrance (view).

Cubs Tickets Vivid Seats

As I mentioned earlier, many fans prefer to buy Cubs tickets online to avoid the hassle of buying at the stadium. I like to use Vivid Seats to buy my MLB tickets.

The Vivid Seats platform is easy to use and they show you what your view from the seat will be prior to purchase. And you can shop around to find the seat and price point that fits your budget.

This is where you can view Cubs tickets available at Vivid Seats (paid affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com).

Vivid Seats has a 100% Buyer Guarantee program that is designed to give you peace of mind when you are buying tickets online. Here is all that comes with Vivid Seat’s 100% Buyers Guarantee program:

  • Hassle Free Customer Service
  • Private and Secure transaction (no selling or sharing your information to brokers)
  • Tickets Delivered before the Event Guaranteed or Money Back
  • Valid and Authentic Tickets or money back
  • Accurate Order Guarantee (your tickets will be identical, comparable, or better than your order or money back)
  • Money Back Guarantee for Cancelled Events

Not only do they make sure you are satisfied and your transactions are secure, but they also have a very user-friendly platform. When you go to purchase tickets, they show you exactly where the seats are on the stadium map. They also give you a view from those seats.

It is very easy to find the game, browse through the tickets, and load the tickets into the cart for purchase. For MLB tickets, including Chicago Cubs tickets, Vivid Seats is my favorite option.

Cubs Tickets Stubhub, Ticketmaster, and SeatGeek

If you prefer to buy your Cubs tickets online, StubHub and Ticketmaster are two other popular options. Just like Vivid Seats above, these sites allows you to buy both Cubs tickets and Cubs parking passes.

These sites work hard to ensure that your tickets are valid and that you are protected. For example, StubHub has what they call “FanProtect”, which is StubHub’s promise that every order is 100% guaranteed (source). Their promise says that you “get valid tickets to any event or your money back.” StubHub commits to finding replacement tickets if there is an issue with your order.

SeatGeek is unique because it is a ticket search engine that searches through the largest tickets sites on the internet to give you an idea of what seats are available across all of those sites. This makes it much easier than you going to each site individually to compare prices.

How Much are Cubs Season Tickets?

The cost of Cubs season tickets varies dramatically depending on the location and amount of seats you are interested in. My advice is to visit the Cubs season tickets page by clicking here.

Once there, you can select the price range that makes the most sense for you, and choose your season ticket seats. The Cubs also offer a variety of ticket plans which allow you to buy a collection of game tickets without having to buy tickets for the entire season. Cubs Parking Options

Wrigley Field has several parking lots, though all require a pass and many are sold to season ticket holders. Some Wrigley Field parking lots are accessible through pre-paid reservations while a few can be accessed with a cash payment, if there are any spots available.

Here are the Wrigley Field Parking Lots:

  • Wrigley Field Prius Lot
  • Wrigley Field Highlander Lot
  • Wrigley Field Irving Park Lot
  • Wrigley Field Rav4 Lot
  • Wrigley Field Camry Lot
  • Wrigley Field Corolla Lot

f you don’t mind parking further from the stadium to save money, there is free remote parking at 3900 N. Rockwell St. which is east of the Chicago River. This lot is available for night and weekend games with free shuttle service starting two hours before the first pitch and stopping one hour post game.  Parking lots open 4 hours before game time.

In general, parking is pretty limited around Wrigley Field. There are private lots and garages, but most of them are pay by the hour and can be quite costly if you leave your car parked there much longer than the length of the game. To learn more, visit our Chicago Cubs Parking and Gate Guide.

Are Chicago Cubs Tickets Hard to Get?

The Cubs are a popular team and will sellout several games throughout the season. Certain games against premium opponents may sell out, along with certain weekend games.

If you are wondering about availability, my recommendation is to contact the Cub’s ticket office and let them advise you on current availability and how to proceed. But it’s important to understand, that even if the game is sold out, you still have an option to buy from an online ticket broker like Vivid Seats.

As I mentioned above, I like to use Vivid Seats because they show me the perspective from the actual seat so I get an idea of what my view of the field will look like prior to purchase. They also have a 100% Buyer Guarantee where they will make sure your tickets are safe and secure.

If you wish to buy from the team, the process is not hard, but availability may be an issue at times. How to Get Cheap Chicago Cubs Tickets

Finding cheap Chicago Cubs tickets will obviously depend on your personal budget, and what you are willing to spend. MLB tickets, in general, are much more budget-friendly than NFL tickets. Most teams, including the Cubs, have very affordable seats.

Of course, not everyone’s definition of “cheap” is the same. Obviously, the most affordable Chicago Cubs tickets will be in the upper sections of the stadium. But if you are looking for a tip to finding Chicago Cubs tickets at a discount, there is one thing to consider.

Sometimes ticket prices will drop as gameday gets closer. This is due to the fact that resellers don’t want to eat the ticket, and so they are more willing to sell for a lower price. But, before you get too excited, don’t expect a significant bargain.

And it is also worth pointing out that this price drop as gameday approaches does not always occur (sometimes the opposite happens). According to SeatGeek, “MLB fans pay 38 percent less when they buy the week of a game versus a month or more ahead of time”.

So, there are occasions where you may be able to get Chicago Cubs tickets for cheaper if you wait until closer to gameday. But this method is not without risk. The tickets you want may no longer be available if you wait, and there is no guarantee that tickets will for sure decrease in price.

Of course, visiting teams can also impact pricing. If you choose to watch the Cubs play a worse opponent, the ticket prices will often be cheaper. This, too, is not always guaranteed however.
