Sportsfanfocus.com has no affiliation with Minute Maid Park, the Houston Astros, or MLB (info)

So you want to attend a Houston Astros game at Minute Maid Park but don’t have your tickets yet. Some fans prefer to buy in person while other fans prefer to buy online. Where can you buy Astros tickets?

*Ticket Advice* – As of this year, you can no longer purchase physical tickets at the stadium. The Astros ticket office is open for ticket resolution only. You can buy your tickets from the team’s website, or from ticket brokers like StubHub and Vivid Seats. I like to use Vivid Seats because they show me what my view from the seats will look like prior to purchase. Click here to view Houston Astros tickets available at Vivid Seats (paid affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com).

The Minute Maid Park Box Office is digital. You will no longer be able to purchase hard copy tickets on site. Text ‘Buy’ to 26099 to purchase your tickets or scan the QR code at the box office windows. You will be able to access your tickets through your smart phone on the MLB Ballpark app.

On game days beginning four (4) hours before first pitch, box office windows at each entrance will open for ticket resolution only.

The main Minute Maid Park Box Office is located on the southwest side of the ballpark, near the intersection of Texas Avenue and Avenida de las Americas. The address is 1701 Texas Avenue.

Although there may be other methods to buy Houston Astros tickets, the most popular options are:

  • Buy Directly from the Astros
  • Buy From Vivid Seats
  • Buy From Stubhub
  • Buy From TicketMaster
  • Buy From SeatGeek

As we discussed above, there are several places online where you can purchase MLB tickets, including Vivid Seats, StubHub, TicketMaster (among others).

In my opinion, Vivid Seats is very easy to use. Here is a look at some screenshots from my phone as I search for Astros tickets at Vivid Seats:

In this article let’s take a closer look at all of these options so you have a better idea where to buy Houston Astros tickets. Let’s also discuss options you have if you are searching for cheap Astros tickets.

Where Can You Buy Houston Astros Tickets?

Buy Tickets from the Team

Houston Astros tickets are available to purchase from the team’s website by clicking here. If you are interested in buying season tickets for the Houston Astros, you can view that information by clicking here.

Buying tickets through the Astros is not hard, and they offer a variety of plans to consider. If you hope to buy tickets on gameday, please remember hard tickets are no longer sold on site at Minute Maid Park. Be prepared for digital tickets. Astros Tickets Vivid Seats

As I mentioned earlier, many fans prefer to buy Astros tickets online to avoid the hassle of buying at the stadium. I like to use Vivid Seats to buy my MLB tickets.

The Vivid Seats platform is easy to use and they show you what your view from the seat will be prior to purchase. And you can shop around to find the seat and price point that fits your budget.

This is where you can view Astros tickets available at Vivid Seats (paid affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com).

Vivid Seats has a 100% Buyer Guarantee program that is designed to give you peace of mind when you are buying tickets online. Here is all that comes with Vivid Seat’s 100% Buyers Guarantee program:

  • Hassle Free Customer Service
  • Private and Secure transaction (no selling or sharing your information to brokers)
  • Tickets Delivered before the Event Guaranteed or Money Back
  • Valid and Authentic Tickets or money back
  • Accurate Order Guarantee (your tickets will be identical, comparable, or better than your order or money back)
  • Money Back Guarantee for Cancelled Events

Not only do they make sure you are satisfied and your transactions are secure, but they also have a very user-friendly platform. When you go to purchase tickets, they show you exactly where the seats are on the stadium map. They also give you a view from those seats.

It is very easy to find the game, browse through the tickets, and load the tickets into the cart for purchase. For MLB tickets, including Houston Astros tickets, Vivid Seats is my favorite option.

Houston Astros Tickets Stubhub, Ticketmaster, and SeatGeek

If you prefer to buy your Astros tickets online, StubHub and Ticketmaster are two other popular options. Just like Vivid Seats above, these sites allows you to buy both Astros tickets and Astros parking passes.

These sites work hard to ensure that your tickets are valid and that you are protected. For example, StubHub has what they call “FanProtect”, which is StubHub’s promise that every order is 100% guaranteed (source). Their promise says that you “get valid tickets to any event or your money back.” StubHub commits to finding replacement tickets if there is an issue with your order.

SeatGeek is unique because it is a ticket search engine that searches through the largest tickets sites on the internet to give you an idea of what seats are available across all of those sites. This makes it much easier than you going to each site individually to compare prices.

How Much are Astros Season Tickets?

The cost of Astros season tickets varies dramatically depending on the location and amount of seats you are interested in. My advice is to visit the Astros season tickets page by clicking here.

Once there, you can load the interactive ticket map where you can adjust the amount of tickets you want, and select your desired price range. You can also browse by section to see the cost of individual seats.

Astros Parking Options

There are around 25,000 parking spaces within a half-mile radius of Minute Maid Park. There are also thousands of on-street parking spots in front of buildings, restaurants, etc.

In most cases, you will have to pay to park at spots not owned by the Astros. Many of these spaces are affordable, and some offer all-day parking. Restaurants and hotels also might offer paid parking to customers upon reservations.

These are the main Minute Maid Parking Lots to consider:

  • Minute Maid Park Lot A
  • Minute Maid Park Lot B
  • Minute Maid Park Lot C
  • Minute Maid Park Lot D
  • Minute Maid Park Lot E
  • Minute Maid Park Diamond Lot

Are Houston Astros Tickets Hard to Get?

The Houston Astros are one of the most popular MLB teams and will sellout many games throughout the season. Games against premium opponents often sell out, along with many weekend games.

If you are wondering about availability, my recommendation is to contact the Astros’ ticket office and let them advise you on current availability and how to proceed. But it’s important to understand, that even if the game is sold out, you still have an option to buy from an online ticket broker like Vivid Seats.

As I mentioned above, I like to use Vivid Seats because they show me the perspective from the actual seat so I get an idea of what my view of the field will look like prior to purchase. They also have a 100% Buyer Guarantee where they will make sure your tickets are safe and secure.

Click here to view Houston Astros tickets available at Vivid Seats (affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com). If you wish to buy from the team, the process is not hard, but availability may be an issue at times. How to Get Cheap Houston Astros Tickets

Finding cheap Houston Astros tickets will obviously depend on your personal budget, and what you are willing to spend. MLB tickets, in general, are much more budget-friendly than NFL tickets. Most teams, including the Astros, have very affordable seats.

Of course, not everyone’s definition of “cheap” is the same. Obviously, the most affordable Houston Astros tickets will be in the upper sections of the stadium. But if you are looking for a tip to finding Houston Astros tickets at a discount, there is one thing to consider.

Sometimes ticket prices will drop as gameday gets closer. This is due to the fact that resellers don’t want to eat the ticket, and so they are more willing to sell for a lower price. But, before you get too excited, don’t expect a significant bargain.

And it is also worth pointing out that this price drop as gameday approaches does not always occur (sometimes the opposite happens). According to SeatGeek, “MLB fans pay 38 percent less when they buy the week of a game versus a month or more ahead of time”.

So, there are occasions where you may be able to get Houston Astros tickets for cheaper if you wait until closer to gameday. But this method is not without risk. The tickets you want may no longer be available if you wait, and there is no guarantee that tickets will for sure decrease in price.

Of course, visiting teams can also impact pricing. If you choose to watch the Astros play a worse opponent, the ticket prices will often be cheaper. This, too, is not always guaranteed however.
