What to Bring to a 49ers Game?

If you are going to a San Francisco 49ers game, planning ahead is always important. Below is a list of things you might need to bring, and you will want to make sure you are complying with any security protocols the stadium has:

  • Clear Stadium BagNFL stadiums have strict bag policies and recommend a clear stadium bag like this one available at Amazon (paid affiliate link takes you to Amazon.com). Make sure to verify the size dimensions meets the size standards for Levi’s Stadium.
  • Reserve Parking – Many stadiums recommend fans to pre-purchase parking passes if needed to help avoid the hassle and wait times associated with buying passes at the stadium. • Weather and Sun ProtectionLevi’s Stadium is an open-air stadium, which means you will need to be prepared to face the elements when you go to a San Francisco 49ers game.
  • Cashless Payment – Many stadiums are transitioning to cashless payments, so bringing a form of payment other than cash is a good idea.
  • Noise-Canceling Headphones – Stadiums can get very loud, and noise-canceling headphones may be needed for toddlers.

Can You Bring a Bag Into Levi’s Stadium?

As an emphasis on security has increased in recent years, NFL stadiums have adjusted their bag policies. There are strict regulations regarding the types of bags allowed inside a stadium. The NFL recommends fans to use clear stadium bags like this one available at Amazon (paid affiliate link takes you to Amazon.com).

Clear stadium bags help with security at the gate, and not only make the stadium safer, but also help security lines move faster. But each stadium has its own safety guidelines, and may include certain exceptions. To read more, I would advise you to visit the Levi’s Stadium information guide.

Can You Bring a Sign Into Levi’s Stadium?

Bringing a sign to the game can be a fun way to add to the experience of going to a NFL Game. You may be wondering if you can bring a sign into Levi’s Stadium. Unfortunately for 49ers games, you can’t bring a sign or a banner of any kind into the stadium (source). For select non-NFL special events, handheld signs may be allowed as long as they do not impair the view of other guests and do not contain vulgar, offensive or graphic content.

In general, you can’t bring signs in for 49ers game. If you are going to Levi’s Stadium for a different reason and want to bring a sign, I would reach out to the Levi’s Stadium Staff and get clarification.

San Francisco 49ers Ticket Information

Buying 49ers Tickets

As of this year, the 49ers ticket office no longer sells hard tickets at the stadium. The ticket office at the stadium is open only to assist in ticket resolution issues or help fans buy tickets on their phones. All tickets are digital. Buying in advance is always a good idea necessary.

You can buy your tickets directly from the team’s website, but once the game is sold-out, you will need to use the secondary ticket market, where you can buy 49ers tickets that are being re-sold. For these types of tickets, I like to use Vivid Seats because they show me what my view from the seats will look like prior to purchase.

If you are planning on getting assistance from the ticket office, I would recommend trying to reach out to them ahead of time to see what hours they are available.

Please remember that NFL stadiums have adopted mobile ticketing in an attempt to reduce the risk of ticket fraud. To learn more about how the 49ers mobile ticketing works, click here.

Levi’s Stadium Gate Information

Levi’s Stadium Gates for the public open 2 hours prior to kickoff, while the Club Entrances will open 3 hours prior to kickoff. Levi’s Stadium does note that times can vary. Keep in mind that some Public Entrance lines take awhile to get in, so getting there early is always a good plan so you don’t miss any part of the game. There are five entrances into Levi’s Stadium. All guests are subject to security inspection prior to admittance into the stadium. Re-entry is prohibited.

Best Place to Park at Levi’s Stadium for San Francisco 49ers Games

Levi’s Stadium has a color and number system that organizes all of the stadium controlled lots. For each lot there will be a color and a number (or a premium designation). You will have to get a parking ticket or pass to enter into a lot. While buying a prepaid parking pass is strongly recommended, there is some parking available on game day on a first com first served basis.

While there are close to 20 different parking lots at Levi Stadium, not all of these allow tailgating. There are also some that restrict the type of flame you have, such as open or closed flames for grills or fire pits. Keep in mind that Levi’s Stadium or the San Francisco 49ers have the right to change polices at any given time.

When you get to your parking lot, there will be stadium staff to direct you where to park. You can’t reserve a space beside you for a friend or family. So if you want to park by someone, you will need to arrive together. On top of that, you probably should arrive early so there isn’t much traffic to deal with.

Levi’s Stadium Parking Tips

  • Buy Prepaid Parking if Possible – Buying a parking pass in advance can help you avoid the hassle of buying at the stadium, and allows you to reserve a spot in a parking lot that makes the most sense for you. With limited spaces that will be shared with public parking, buying ahead of time is smart This is where you can view the current price of parking passes available for 49ers games at Vivid Seats (paid affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com).
  • Live Traffic monitoring – Traffic in Santa Clara (where the San Francisco 49ers Levi’s Stadium is located) can get very heavy around game time. We recommend planning your route to and from the game ahead of time, but its always a good idea to check out the live traffic cameras to avoid heavier traffic, if possible.
  • Get there early – Gates open 3.5 hours before the game starts, so its best to get there early and park before the traffic gets heavy. If you wait until closer to the game starts, especially on games during the week, there is a decent chance you could miss part of the game.

Where is the 49ers Pro Shop?

The Levi’s Stadium Pro Shop is located on the northwest side of the stadium Inside Intel Gate A. The store is open year around, which is nice if you don’t want to deal with the crowds on game day. There is an entrance into the store from the outside of the stadium.

The store is only open Thursday through Sunday with varying hours. If you are planning to go to the Levi’s Stadium Prop Shop on a non-gameday, it is always a good idea to contact the team ahead of time.

If you are shopping for 49ers fan gear, you can also do that online. This is where you can view 49ers gear available at NFLShop.com (paid affiliate link takes you to NFLShop.com). To read more about jerseys, visit our article about San Francisco 49ers Jerseys.

Does Levi’s Stadium Accept Cash Inside the Stadium?

As of this year, for safety and efficiency purposes, cash payments are no longer accepted inside Levi’s Stadium. Levi’s Stadium only accept cards and contactless payment like Apple Pay at concessions, retail, parking, and vendors/hawkers.

For fans without any payment options other than cash, the 49ers installed four on-site cash-to-card kiosks that will enable fans to exchange cash for a prepaid card. Users will be able to swipe the prepaid card for payments inside and outside of the venue.

If you would like more information about similar issues like cash payments at Levi’s Stadium, check out the Levi’s Stadium Information page. If you are worried about your payment options, it is always a good idea to contact the team ahead of time.
