NRG Stadium uses colors to name the parking lots around the stadium (like blue lot, red lot, etc). But it is important to understand that each lot is also broken down by numbers. For example, the NRG Stadium Purple Lot consists of lot number 31 and 32.

Can You Purchase Parking On Site? – Yes, there are a limited number of spots available for purchase on site on gameday (no cash accepted). These spots are available in the NRG Stadium Maroon Lot (accessed via NRG Stadium Gate 5 Parking Entrance from 610 Loop service road) and the NRG Stadium Yellow Lot (accessed via NRG Stadium Gate 16A Parking Entrance from McNee).

How Early Can You Arrive? – Most NRG Stadium parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff, including the pay-on-site parking lots we discussed above. You may queue in line 30 minutes prior to that if you are worried about getting a parking spot (source).

NRG Stadium Red Lot Parking for Houston Texans

The NRG Stadium Red Parking Lot is located directly north of the stadium. Most of the NRG Stadium Red Lots are located on the north side of NRG Parkway, however NRG Stadium Red Lot 1 is actually positioned south of NRG Parkway (just north of the stadium).

The NRG Stadium Platinum Parking Lot is assigned lot number 23, so you may also see it listed as the NRG Stadium Platinum Lot 23.

As we discussed earlier, NRG Stadium uses parking gates to help direct traffic into specific lots. Depending on what lot you are parking in, there is a specific parking gate with which you will need to enter/exit.

NRG Stadium Gate 1 Parking Entrance Location

NRG Stadium Gate 1 parking entrance is located northeast of the stadium on Fannin Street. This NRG Stadium Gate 1 entrance is located on the west side of the street. This entrance feeds into NRG Stadium Tan Lot, which is mainly used as a docking area.

NRG Stadium Gate 2 Parking Entrance Location

It is also used for NRG Stadium Blue Lot Suite Parking.

NRG Stadium Gate 3 Parking Entrance Location

NRG Stadium Gate 3 parking entrance is located east of the stadium at the intersection of Fannin Street and Holly Hall Street. This NRG Stadium Gate 3 entrance is located on the west side of the intersection. This entrance is used for NRG Stadium Orange Lot Parking.

How to Exit NRG Stadium Parking Lots

NRG Stadium will have specific exit gates that help traffic flow efficiently away from the stadium after the game. Traffic will be navigated in specific directions depending on which lot you park in.

My advice is to visit this NRG Stadium Map where is shows the traffic flow for exiting the area, which might help you better plan your visit.

Where is the NRG Stadium Uber Pickup and Rideshare Area?

The NRG Stadium Uber Pickup spot is located in front of Hall B at the NRG Center (source). NRG Center is not the same thing as NRG Stadium. NRG Center is located just to the northeast of NRG Stadium. To get to this area, you need to exit NRG Stadium and follow NRG Parkway east towards Fannin Street (you will see the NRG Center on the north side of NRG Parkway before you reach Fannin Street).

Where is the NRG Stadium Brown Lot Parking Location?

The NRG Stadium Brown Lot is located west of the stadium on Murworth Drive (west of the intersection of Murworth Drive and Lantern Point Drive). The entrance to the NRG Stadium Brown Lot will be on the south side of the road.

Where is the NRG Tan Lot Parking Location?

The NRG Stadium Tan Lot is located northeast of the stadium, and is actually on the north side of the NRG Center (not to be confused with NRG Stadium). The entrance to NRG Stadium Tan Lot is positioned along the west side of Fannin Street. This lot is used mainly as a docking area.

When do NRG Stadium Parking Lots Open?

Most NRG Stadium Parking Lots open four hours prior to kickoff. This includes:

NRG Stadium Purple Lot
NRG Stadium Yellow Lot
NRG Stadium Teal Lot

The one exception is the NRG Stadium Platinum Parking Lot which opens five hours prior to kickoff (source).
