If you are planning to attend a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium and don’t yet have tickets, you might be wondering about your options. Where can you buy Kansas City Chiefs tickets?

Chiefs Tickets: Buying tickets directly from the team is the method most fans prefer, but Chiefs games frequently sellout, so this won’t always be an option. If the game is sold out, you will need to use the secondary ticket market, where you can buy Chiefs tickets that are being re-sold. For these types of tickets, I like to use Vivid Seats because they show me what my view from the seats will look like prior to purchase. If you choose to buy directly from the team, you can do so by downloading the Chiefs Mobile App to your mobile device. The Chiefs Mobile App keeps you connected to the team with news, updated rosters, stats and injury reports. It also gives you access to ticket purchasing. The main Arrowhead Ticket Office is located on the northeast side of Arrowhead Stadium adjacent to the Founder’s Plaza and Hy-Vee Gate (view). Many ticket offices have adjusted hours due to the pandemic, and my advice is to contact the Chiefs ticket office to confirm current hours of operation (view contact information).

Although there may be other methods to buy Chiefs tickets, the most popular options are:

  • Buy From the Chiefs (Primary Ticket Marketplace)
  • Buy From Vivid Seats (My Favorite)
  • Buy From Stubhub
  • Buy From TicketMaster

As we discussed above, many fans prefer buying directly from the team, but once the game is sold out, you will need to go to the secondary ticket market to find Chiefs tickets. A secondary ticket marketplace is where tickets that have already been purchased are re-sold for one reason or another.

Usually a ticket is re-sold because whoever bought the ticket in the first place can’t make it to the game, and so they are re-selling the tickets (for example, maybe they have season tickets and can’t make it to this week’s game). Also, some fans may re-sell their tickets if the ticket value for a certain game skyrockets, and they have the chance to turn a profit.

There are several places online where you can purchase these re-sold tickets, including Vivid Seats, StubHub, TicketMaster, and Tickets for Less (among others). Vivid Seats is very easy to use. Here is a look at some screenshots from my phone as I search for Chiefs tickets at Vivid Seats:

  • Ticket Office Location: The Chiefs Ticket Office on game days is located on the northeast side of Arrowhead Stadium adjacent to the Founder’s Plaza and the Hy-Vee gate (view). Buying tickets through the Chiefs is not hard, but availability is something you will need to consider. If you hope to buy tickets on gameday from the ticket office at Arrowhead stadium, just be aware that tickets may be sold out and/or lines could be long. Although Chiefs tickets are first listed through the team, once they sellout, you will need to go to the secondary ticket market to purchase your tickets. This includes sites like Vivid Seats, StubHub, and Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange. Let’s discuss these three sites in more detail so you understand which one might be your best option.

Chiefs Tickets Vivid Seats

If the Chiefs game is sold out and you’re looking for tickets, you will need to buy re-sold tickets on the secondary ticket market. For buying these types of Chiefs tickets, Vivid Seats is my favorite option. Click here to view Chiefs tickets available at Vivid Seats (affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com).

Vivid Seats is an online ticket broker that allows you to purchase re-sold Chiefs tickets. What is a re-sold ticket? Re-sold tickets are tickets that have already been purchased once, but for whatever reason, the original buyer no longer is going to use the ticket and is therefore re-selling it using an online ticket broker like Vivid Seats.

There are many reasons a ticket may be re-sold, but two common reasons are 1) the original buyer cannot make it to the game for one reason or another, or 2) the original buyer feels he/she can make a profit because the value of the ticket has risen from their original purchase price.

This may seem complicated, but I’m here to tell you it is not. The Vivid Seats platform is very easy to use and Vivid Seats has a 100% Buyer Guarantee program that is designed to give you peace of mind when you are buying tickets online.

Here is all that comes with Vivid Seat’s 100% Buyers Guarantee program:

  • Hassle Free Customer Service
  • Private and Secure transaction (no selling or sharing your information to brokers)
  • Tickets Delivered before the Event Guaranteed or Money Back
  • Valid and Authentic Tickets or money back
  • Accurate Order Guarantee (your tickets will be identical, comparable, or better than your order or money back)
  • Money Back Guarantee for Cancelled Events

Not only do they make sure you are satisfied and your transactions are secure, but they also have a very user-friendly platform. When you go to purchase tickets, they show you exactly where the seats are on the stadium map. They also give you your actual view from those seats.

As you can see, it was very easy to find the game, browse through the tickets, and load the tickets into the cart for purchase. For NFL tickets, including chiefs tickets, Vivid Seats is my favorite option.

Chiefs Tickets Stubhub

If the game is sold out and you are shopping for Chiefs tickets, StubHub is another popular option. Just like Vivid Seats above, StubHub allows you to buy re-sold Chiefs tickets.

StubHub works hard to make you feel confident when buying through their website. They have what they call “FanProtect”, which is StubHub’s promise that every order is 100% guaranteed (source). Their promise says that you “get valid tickets to any event or your money back.” StubHub commits to finding replacement tickets if there is an issue with your order.

Chiefs Tickets Ticketmaster

A third popular re-selling platform is Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange. If you’re searching for re-sold Chiefs tickets, Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange is a very trustworthy platform to use. They are the official fan-to fan resale marketplace of the NFL (source).

Just like the other secondary ticket sites we discussed above, Ticketmaster is committed to ensuring you receive real tickets and that you have access to reliable refunds in case the event is canceled.

Are Chiefs Tickets Hard to Get?

The Chiefs are a popular team with a long history of selling out the stadium, and for that reason, yes, Chiefs tickets can be hard to get. If you are wondering about availability, my recommendation is to contact the Chiefs’ ticket office and let them advise you on current availability and how to proceed. You can view their contact information here.

But it’s important to understand, that even if the game is sold out, you still have an option to buy from an online ticket broker like Vivid Seats. As I mentioned above, I like to use Vivid Seats. I like the fact that they show me the perspective from the actual seat so I get an idea of what my view of the field will look like prior to purchase.

Click here to view Chiefs tickets available at Vivid Seats (affiliate link takes you to VividSeats.com). If you wish to buy from the team, the process is not hard, but availability is an issue. How to Get Cheap Chiefs Tickets

Finding cheap Kansas City Chiefs tickets, or NFL tickets in general, is very difficult. Because games frequently sellout, the demand is there to keep ticket prices high.

Of course, not everyone’s definition of “cheap” is the same. Obviously, the most affordable Chiefs tickets will be in the upper sections of the stadium. But if you are looking for a tip to finding Chiefs tickets at a discount, there is one thing to consider.

Sometimes ticket prices will drop as gameday gets closer. This is due to the fact that resellers don’t want to eat the ticket, and so they are more willing to sell for a lower price. Before you get too excited, don’t expect a significant bargain.

And it is also worth pointing out that this price drop as gameday approaches does not always occur (sometimes the opposite happens). According to TickPick, roughly 75% of NFL tickets decrease in price as you get closer to game day (source).

So, there are occasions where you may be able to get Chiefs tickets for cheaper if you wait until closer to gameday. But this method is not without risk. The tickets you want may no longer be available if you wait, and there is no guarantee that ticket prices will for sure decrease in price.
