This is a Nike jersey sizing guide. In general, the way a Nike jersey fits will vary depending on what type of jersey it is, and for what sport it is.
Nike currently is the official outfitter for the NFL, NBA, and MLB. In this guide we will discuss how you can expect Nike jerseys to fit. Let’s start with the NBA.
NBA Nike Jersey Sizing
Nike offers two general types of NBA jerseys: Swingman and Authentic. The Nike Swingman NBA jerseys are replica jerseys that won’t have all the premium finishes of the authentic jerseys, but have a more affordable price point.
Nike Swingman
The Swingman jerseys are replica NBA jerseys. They don’t have the premium design features of the authentic jerseys (for example, they have screen-printed graphics), but this allows them to be offered at a more affordable price point than the Nike Authentic NBA jerseys.

The Nike Swingman jerseys have a slim, athletic fit. If you prefer a baggy fit, you may need to size up. Here is a look at me wearing a size medium Nike Swingman (6’3″ 200):
Here is a look at a size medium Nike Swingman compared to a size medium t-shirt straight out of the package:
The medium Nike Swingman runs just a touch slimmer than the medium Hanes t-shirt. Again, if you pefer a baggy fit you may need to size up. Click here to view the Nike Swingman jerseys at NBAStore.com to see what styles are available (affiliate link takes you to NBAStore.com).
Nike Authentic
The Nike Authentic jerseys are the closest you can get to wearing what the NBA players wear on the court. They have premium design features like authentic paneling and stitched graphics.

The Nike Authentic jerseys run longer than the Nike Swingman jerseys. They use a numerical sizing system instead of small, medium, large, etc. Here I am wearing a size 44 (6’3″ 200):
The Nike Authentic jerseys have a slim fit, which mimics the slim style of the jerseys the players wear. If you prefer a baggy fit, you might need to size up.
Here is a size 44 compared to a size medium t-shirt. As you can see, the Nike Authentic jerseys are longer than a normal t-shirt. The size 44 has just a bit more breathing room than a medium t-shirt through the chest and stomach:
The Nike Authentic jerseys are coveted by many fans since they are authentic versions of what the players wear. Many serious fans prefer the authentic jerseys.

NFL Nike Jersey Sizing
Nike offers four different types of NFL jerseys. The NFL Nike Jersey Sizing will vary depending on what type of jersey you choose. These are the four jersey types:
- Nike Legend
- Nike Game
- Nike Limited
- Nike Elite (authentic)
Nike Legend
The Nike Legend is a unique take on NFL fan jerseys. It is a sort of jersey/shirt hybrid – sorta like a shirsey. It is made of polyester though, so it feels to the touch like a jersey.
Overall, it fits very much like a t-shirt. I ordered my normal sizing and it fit comfortably. Below is size medium Nike Legend (6’3″ 200):
I was actually shocked how much I liked the fit of the Nike Legend jersey. It is an affordable replica jersey, that might pair easier with normal clothes than other types of fan jerseys. Nike Game
The Nike Game jerseys are very popular due to their price point. These are designed more like a true jersey than the Nike Legends we just discussed.
I like to describe the Game Nike Jersey sizing as relaxed, but true to size. Yes, that’s another way of saying it runs a touch bigger than normal clothing. I personally did not size it down. Here is a size medium Nike Game jersey (6’3″ 200):
Again, my recommendation is to order your normal sizing, and expect it to have a relaxed fit. If you absolutely want a slimmer fit, it might be best to size down or choose a different jersey style. Nike Limited
The Nike Limited Vapor jerseys are my favorite type of NFL fan jersey. They have a few premium design features (like stitched graphics), but they come in at a more affordable price point than the Nike Elite jerseys. It feels like the best of both worlds to me.
Nike Limited jersey sizing is very consistent with normal clothing. I ordered my normal sizing, and it has a perfect fit that isn’t too tight or too loose. Here is my size medium Nike Limited jersey (6’3″ 200):
Again, this is my favorite jersey. If you are looking for an NFL jersey that has stitched graphics, but don’t want to pay all the way up for the Nike Elite jersey, this is a perfect compromise. Click here to view the Nike Limited jerseys at NFLShop.com (affiliate link takes you to NFLShop.com).
Nike Elite
The Nike Elite jerseys are the most premium type of NFL fan jersey. These are the authentic jerseys. This is the closest you can get as a fan to wearing what the players wear on the field.
There is both a Nike Elite jersey, and a Nike Elite Vapor Untouchable jersey. Both of these jerseys have an athletic fit, but the Nike Elite Vapor Untouchable jerseys have a slimmer fit, and also have fitted sleeves.
The Nike Elite jerseys use numerical sizing. Here is a look at my size 40 for both (6’3 200):
If you prefer a loose fit, you may want to size up the Elite jerseys. The type of Elite jersey offered may vary from team to team. Click here to view the Nike Elite jerseys at NFLShop.com to see what type of Elite jersey is offered for your team (affiliate link takes you to NFLShop.com).

The big takeaway here is that you can expect NFL Nike jersey sizing to differ depending on what type of jersey you buy. The Nike Game jerseys are the loosest fit.
MLB Nike Jersey Sizing
Nike has taken over the MLB apparel contract starting in 2020. Prior to Nike, Majestic had the MLB contract. Nike offers both a replica and an Authentic MLB jersey. Click here to visit MLBShop.com to see what the new Nike jerseys look like (affiliate link takes you to MLBShop.com).
In general, most types of MLB jerseys are made to fit a little baggier than normal clothing. This mimics the relaxed fit of the players’ jerseys.
I wear a size 44 for MLB jerseys, which according to the official size guide is a large equivalent. Here is how the size 44 fits me (6’3″ 200):
As you can see, the size 44 has plenty of length for me at 6’3″ tall. Overall, again, expect baseball jerseys to have a little extra room built in.
The Nike MLB Jerseys run a little bit bigger than the Majestic MLB jerseys did. Here is a look at my old Majestic size 44 gray Mike Trout jersey sitting on top of my new Nike size 44 white Christian Yelich jersey:
As you can see, the Nike jersey underneath has a little extra room in the chest and stomach. It also runs just a bit longer. If you’ve owned a Majestic jersey in the past, even though the Nike jersey is a bit bigger, I recommend ordering the same size.
